EsSalud warns of affiliate scam

EsSalud warns about telephone scams aimed at affiliates and family. Criminals request payments for free procedures such as the funeral. Know how to identify these fraudulent practices.

EsSalud has alerted citizens about a modality of Telephone scam in which people go through officials from the institution to request money deposits in exchange for procedures related to economic benefits. These practices mainly affect the relatives of deceased affiliates, who are contacted under the pretext of managing funeral procedures.

The institution has emphasized that all the procedures carried out through its official channels are free, urging the population not to provide personal information or pay payments.

How the telephone scams aimed at Affiliates from EsSalud operate

According to the cases reported by EsSaludscammers communicate by phone identifying themselves as insurance offices and economic benefits (OSPE). They offer to manage economic benefits, such as those related to the funeral, and request deposits in bank accounts.

In Complaints Recent, the amounts involved exceeded S/ 7,000. Essalud has indicated that it does not make calls to request payments or use intermediaries for the processing of benefits. All economic benefits must be managed directly by the insured or their relatives in the official channels.

  2. Formalize the complaint before the competent authorities: this allows investigating cases and taking measures against those responsible.
