The Dina Boluarte regime is preparing the creation of a Ministry of Infrastructure. According to the journalist Karla Ramirez Camarena (Cuarto Poder) the ministry will be announced in the message to the nation on July 28 —the second that Boluarte will make—.
According to documents shown by Ramirez, the The Ministry of Infrastructure will absorb entities such as the newly formed National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN), Proinversión, Agrorural, the National Health Investment Program – PRONIS, the National Fisheries Development Fund – FONDEPES, Foncodes, Provías and the Legacy project, among others.
In addition, the National Council for Competitiveness and Formalization will be attached to the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Specialized Team for Monitoring Investment will be transferred to the new portfolio within 180 calendar days.
Ramírez added another file in which the functions of the Ministry of Infrastructure can be seen: designing and promoting the processes, methodology and tools of infrastructure; as well as coordination with other ministries and their territorial and social focus through the three levels of government.
It will also encourage the participation of the private sector and foreign capital in infrastructure, as well as coordinating administrative planning and supply systems “to ensure their efficiency.”
