By email, Bodytech announced to its members that it is closing all its offices in the country due to different circumstances that the corporation has gone through and that force it to withdraw from the market.

“For 16 years, we have shared with you the purpose of taking care of your health through the practice of exercise. Therefore, today we want to thank you for being part of this great Bodytech community. However, due to different circumstances, the corporation has made the decision to pause its operations in Peru, without losing sight of the objective for which we have worked alongside you all these years.”

What will happen to users affiliated with Bodytech?

Bodytech has announced a surprise measure so that its customers do not miss out on accessing the service they paid for. The chain of gyms established an alliance with Smart Fit so that its members can continue with their training from July 25.

“In order for you to continue taking care of your health and well-being, we have coordinated an alliance with Smart Fit Peru so that you do not interrupt your training and continue in any of the locations of this important chain of gyms as a Black member,” the statement explains.

Bodytech announces that, to do so, you must accept the terms and conditions of the alliance and then you can enter any of the Smart Fit locations.

“This alliance will come into effect as of today, July 25, 2024, from which date you will be able to train at any of the 75 Smart Fit gyms. To do so, you will only need to accept the terms and conditions of the alliance and download the codes corresponding to the time pending on your affiliation with Bodytech.”

Bodytech has closed several of its locations since 2023

Between January and August 2023, Bodytech closed several of its branches in Lima. The company said this was due to disagreements with the owners of the premises, but not because of an intention to reduce its presence in the Peruvian market. However, the affected users, who had already paid for the service, expressed their concern and frustration.

The closures included stores in Guardia Civil, San Borja and 28 de Julio, Miraflores. In response to complaints of lack of refunds and poor communication from the company, Indecopi decided to launch a preliminary investigation to determine whether Bodytech has violated consumer protection laws.
