Petroperú has begun the pre-start-up maneuvers for the Flexicoking Unit (FCK) of the New Talara Refinery (NRT) after completing the inspection and repair work on this important processing unit, which allows the production of high-value liquid fuels obtained from petroleum waste.
With the start-up and subsequent commissioning, the FCK unit will contribute to increasing the Production of quality fuels at the NRTsuch as gasoline, diesel, LPG, Turbo A1, among others, to meet national demand, the state company highlighted.
“FCK is the most complex processing plant in the NRT, as it boasts cutting-edge technologylicensed by the American oil company Exxon Mobil, which allows it to carry out operations with great reliability and precision.“, the state-owned company stressed in a statement.
Petroperu He said that during the temporary shutdown of FCK, during which inspection and repair work was carried out, the NRT has continued to produce fuels in accordance with specifications through its other 15 processing units and auxiliary units, which have remained operational since their start-up.
Pumping by the ONP ends
On July 16, Petroperú reported the satisfactory completion of pumping through Section II of the North Peruvian Oil Pipeline (ONP), through which 322,000 barrels of crude oil were transported from the Amazon to the northern coast of the country.
