The regional manager of Energy, Mines and Hydrocarbons, Iván Prado, reported that by March they will have concluded the technical file for the construction of the Kepashiato Fractionation Plant in the province of La Convencion. The project will allow the production of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or domestic gas for Cusco and neighboring regions. It will also reduce product costs.
Prado, announced that even the company INSPECTRA SA that develops the file, has already required the Kepashiato district municipality (La Convencion) to locate the site for the deposit of the material that will be removed from the site of the plant’s construction area. He added that, once the studies are completed, they will immediately launch the bidding process for physical works and within a year and a half they can have the work completed.
Likewise, in relation to the raw material (natural gas liquids) that will be required for the production of LPG, the official said that they have good relations with the Camisea Consortium. Consider, therefore, that there will be no major problems in this regard.
Finally, on the cost that the project will demand, he said that it may possibly reach about S / 140 million due to the permanent change of the dollar. However, he clarified that the detailed study of INSPECTRA, is the one that in the end will give the real price of the project.
