Bonus for National Holidays 2024: which public sector workers will receive it and how much is it?

We are just a few days away from starting the month of National Holidays. During this period, public sector workers will receive an additional payment to their ordinary remuneration. Said economic benefit is deposited in the July payroll of this year and is not subject to contributions, contributions or discounts, except those others established by law or authorized by the employee.

Although the Supreme Decree that makes the payment of the bonus official has not yet been published, the 2024 budget law contemplates the payment of this extra money for both the seventh and the last month of the year. Bonus for National Holidays 2024: which workers receive it?

The public budget law for fiscal year 2024 It includes a series of salary improvements for state workers. One of them is the Christmas bonus, a legal benefit that is paid twice a year and must be deposited together with the salary.

According to article 7 of the aforementioned norm, this extra money will be deposited in July, the month of the National Holidays, to the officials, servants appointed and contracted under the labor regime of Legislative Decree No. 276, Law No. 2944 and the Law No. 30512. In addition, they will also receive it:

  • University teachers of Law No. 30220.
  • Health personnel under Legislative Decree No. 1153; permanent and temporary workers in the public sector.
  • Personnel of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.
  • Pensioners included in the regimes of Laws No. 15117 and 28091, in Supreme Decree No. 051-88-PCM, as well as Decree Laws No. 19846 and 20530.
  • Workers hired under the CAS labor regime (Legislative Decree No. 1057).

What is the amount of the Christmas bonus for National Holidays?

According to article 7 of the Public Budget Law for fiscal year 2024, The amount set for this year is S/300which will be paid in the payment sheet for the month of July.

What is the difference between bonus and bonus?
