Peru will receive 3.3 million foreign tourists in 2024: almost 80% of the pre-pandemic level

Peru will receive approximately 3.3 million foreign tourists by the end of 2024, 32% more than the visitors it hosted in 2023, when 2.5 million international tourists arrived in our territory, according to information from Casa Andina in your report on the sector. This is the best level in the last five years (+76% vs. 2019).

“In the period from January to May of this year, 1.3 million foreign tourists arrived in the country, above the 0.8 million tourists we received in the same period last year,” warned Juan Stoessel, CEO of Casa Andean.

For Casa Andina, there are various growth opportunities for the sector that focus, among other factors, on greater infrastructure and connectivity in the country, on the historical and gastronomic potential, as well as on the large business and sporting events that will take place in our territory.

These include the new terminal of the Jorge Chávez International Airport, the port of Chancay, the Chinchero airport and the prompt construction of the new accesses and the cable car to facilitate access to the citadel of Choquequirao in Cusco.

Likewise, the celebrations of the APEC summit in Peru this year; and the Lima 2027 Pan American Games, a multi-sports event that would double the number of tourists at Lima 2019.

In the case of Casa Andina, the chain has registered a growth of 76% in its income nationwide compared to 2023. This figure is mainly supported by the growth of Peruvian guests, which reached 73,500 in 2024, an increase of 35% compared to 2024.

In the case of foreign guests, these reached more than 70,000 at the end of 2024, registering a growth of 141% in relation to 2023 and slightly below the more than 72,000 that were received in the last pre-pandemic year five years ago.

Casa Andina and its 2024 strategy

As part of its growth strategy, the chain will put its new hotel into operation Casa Andina Premium Golf Los Incaswhich will be a fundamental piece to achieve the goals proposed for 2024.

The new establishment, which consists of 87 rooms, a spa, four event rooms, a gym and a swimming pool, will allow the chain to expand its coverage in the capital, where they have already been operating in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro; as well as accessing a new user profile, between tourists and corporate clients.

Casa Andina has a presence in 33 destinations nationwide with 45 hotels, offering more than 2,500 rooms, 78 event rooms and 32 restaurants.

In addition, they recently announced that they exceeded 100,000 users of Casa Andina Life, a loyalty program that offers a series of benefits and rewards for its guests.
