So, No company may call consumers’ cell phones or send messages—text or emails—to offer any good or service, unless the customer has unequivocally expressed his or her consent.
Indecopi will be in charge of applying the sanctions, which will be classified as “very serious” and would reach 450 UIT (S/2 million 317,500).
“With these measures, it is expected that the inconvenience caused by unsolicited calls and messages will be reduced, thus protecting the privacy and tranquility of millions of users in the country,” Soto added.
