The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of metropolitan Lima decreased by 0.09% during May, thus continuing in the target range with 2.0%, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).

Although fruits also had a reduction of 1.2%, this decrease was mitigated by the increase in blueberries (55.51%), mangoes (15.82%), Israeli apple (10.79%) and banana silk (4.93%).

Likewise, sectors such as transportation (0.31%), restaurants and hotels (0.28%), various goods and services (0.17%), education (0.17%), accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.15%), health (0.14%), recreation and culture (0.13%) and furniture, household items and home conservation (0.11%) .

How are the prices of the basic basket?

In markets such as Aurora, Limoncillo and the Ramón Castilla municipal market, potato prices – which range between S/1.80 and S/2.20 per kilo – are still maintained, while lemon can be found up to at S/4 per kilo in Aurora and Ramón Castilla, only in Limoncillo it is S/1.50.
