The price of the dollar closed higher this Wednesday, May 29, and stood at S/3.7580, an increase of 0.1% compared to Tuesday’s close, which was at S/3750, according to the Central Reserve Bank (BCRP). ).

During the exchange session, the market had a bullish behavior, oscillating between the minimum levels of S/3.7530 and the maximum of S/3.7650.

In the parallel market of exchange houses, the North American currency is offered for S/3.72 for purchase and S/3.75 for sale. Meanwhile, the country’s main banks place an average price of S/3,715 for a purchase and S/3,805 for a sale.

US$408 million were traded in the market at an average price of S/3.7598. The BCRP intervened by placing an exchange swap sale for S/400 million at an average rate of 6.15%. Likewise, there were exchange swap sales maturities for S/300 million.

Fabiola Gutierrez, Currency trader at Renta4 SAB, explained that it is expected that at the next meeting of the Federal Reserve, the interest rate will remain in the balance between 5.25% and 5.50%.

“Despite this, the president of the Minneapolis Fed Neel Kashkari mentioned yesterday that there is a possibility, although minimal, of increasing this level if inflation does not stabilize towards the 2% objective,” said the specialist. The DXY was trading at 105.12 at market close.
