The Congressional Consumer Defense Commission unanimously approved the bill that seeks to eliminate any form of discrimination under the pretext that “the house reserves the right of admission”, a practice used by restaurants and venues to prevent entry. or justify the departure of certain clients or consumers. This measure represents significant progress in the fight against discrimination and in promoting equal rights for all citizens.

The agreement was reached during the decentralized session that took place in the Cepre auditorium of the National Amazonian University of Madre de Dios. The meeting was led by the president of said working group, Congressman Wilson Soto Palacios (AP). During this meeting, various relevant topics were discussed and agreements were reached that will have a significant impact on the region.

Along these lines, the project was promoted by Fuerza Popular congressman, Raúl Huamán. The legislative initiative modifies article 38.3 of Law No. 29571 of the Consumer Protection and Defense Code emphasizing that “In no case is it permitted to invoke the right of admission to prevent entry or prohibit the stay of consumers in establishments for reasons based on discrimination for whatever reason”.
