If I am abroad, how can I register my application to access the AFP withdrawal?

The AFP Association reported that thousands of Peruvians are already registering their AFP withdrawal requests. In the case of Peruvians abroad, they must take into account the following recommendations and steps to access their money.

This week the registration of applications began to access the withdrawal of up to 4 UIT (S/20,600) from private pension funds. According to the last digit of their National Identity Document (DNI), each member can register for free through the website enabled by the AFP Association.

In the case of people living abroad, they also have the option of releasing the money they have in their individual capitalization accounts. You only need to have some documents on hand and provide your banking information to carry out this free and digital procedure, the amount to be withdrawn will be divided into four groups of 1 UIT (S/5,150) each.

AFP withdrawal from abroad: what documents should you have?

Through an institutional video, the AFP Association published on its social networks the data and documents that AFP members must have on hand when registering their disbursement request. In the case of people residing abroad, they are the following:

  • ID, web password, address, email and cell phone.
  • Foreign bank account details.
  • Name of the bank and city of origin, and the name with which they are registered in the bank.
  • Currency and account type, and account number.
  • Image of a bank document that proves that the account is your own.
  • Codes: 1) SWIFT or BIC, 2) ABA or IBAN and 3) CLABE or Transit number. Additionally, for Chilean accounts, the RUT; Argentina, the CBU, and Australia, the BSB.
  • If your bank has an intermediary in Peru for transfers: name, country, city, account number and SWIFT or ABA number of the intermediary bank.

How to submit the AFP withdrawal request from abroad?

As recalled, the Resolution S.B.S. 01623-2024 establishes that Peruvians abroad can present their AFP withdrawal applications virtually to facilitate access, without having to be in person. For more details, the AFP Association explains these steps:

  • Go to THIS LINK.
  • Click ‘I want to withdraw’.
  • Read the recommendation text and slide your cursor to the end to click ‘start my application’.
  • If your ID is expired, don’t worry, you can use it without any problems. If it was issued after May 10, you must use the previous one.
  • Choose your type of document (if you live abroad) and write your DNI number, as well as the verification digit.
  • Then, enter your date of birth and click on the empty box where it says ‘I am not a robot’.
  • Click on the ‘consult’ button and a message will appear that will inform you if the AFP withdrawal corresponds to you, according to the official schedule.
  • Next, they will ask you how much amount you want to withdraw from your fund. To do this, you must choose two options: if you transfer to a bank account or an AFP account.
  • The next step is that you must specify whether you are accessing in Peru or abroad. Here, put “payment at a bank abroad.”
  • Then, enter your contact information such as place of residence, account number, email, among others. In this way, your request will be registered.
  • Once you have completed this last step, you will receive proof of registration in the following days via email.
  • Finally, in two days you will be able to check how your order is going and you will have the possibility to verify if you registered correctly.

How to register a power of attorney in Sunarp for AFP withdrawal?

Peruvian citizens living abroad can present consular powers of public deeds digitally through the SID Sunarp platform at THIS LINK. This measure seeks to save time and money through a system that reduces the process to five days and the cost of registration fees to only S/24.60. You just have to follow these steps:

  • It is necessary for users to access the website of the nearest consular office, where they can find the necessary requirements to draft the public deed, whether special or general.
  • Once you have selected the type of power of attorney and met the requirements, you must request an appointment.
  • Before the scheduled date, the consulate will contact the applicant to review the wording of the public deed document.
  • On the agreed day, it is essential to appear punctually and with the identity document to sign the power of attorney, which will subsequently be sent electronically to Sunarp for official registration.
