In March of this year, the trade balance accumulated a surplus of US$17,866 million in year-on-year terms, reported the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

Thus, it exceeds by more than US$7,000 million what was seen in the same month of 2023. In March alone, the surplus was US$1,499 million.

On the other hand, the BCRP specifies that exports totaled US$16,384 million in the first quarter, 0.9% more than in the same period of the previous year; and imports, US$11,842 (-0.3%).

Export prices in March rose 1.7% in the last twelve months thanks to gold and non-traditional agricultural export products, although the volume shipped fell 11.6%.
