In order to establish a better electrification scheme and promote the growth of bio-businesses in the Peruvian Amazon, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), through the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), approved two loans for a total of US $ 90 million from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank (WB).
In the case of the international financial organization based in the city of Washington DC, the loan amounts to US $ 20 million. With the World Bank it was US $ 70 million, informed Minister Pedro Francke.
“It seeks to continue expanding the electricity frontier for those towns in which it is still necessary to expand the transmission and distribution lines, so that they have electricity,” he said at a press conference.
On the other hand, the head of the MEF stated that the preparation of the legislative decrees that must be drawn up this year and that are related to income tax, which must come into effect in 2022, has been completed.
Minister Francke also indicated that the issue of taxation with municipal taxes is being adjusted, such as not paying taxes on stolen vehicles or vehicles that catch fire.
“If someone loses their car, they no longer have to pay taxes,” he stressed during the press conference at the end of the meeting.
