The Executive Branch officially requested legislative powers from the Congress of the Republic, with the objective of legislating on matters of strengthening, simplification and regulatory quality in matters of public, private and public-private investment, and management of public services.
Bill No. 07752/2023-PE, as announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), includes powers to improve the quality of public investment and strengthen the state’s business activity.
“In addition to reducing transaction costs, access and competition in financial services, fiscal balance, and modernizing the tax system,” the document states.
The Executive will also propose devices to improve criminological and penitentiary policy; urban development, urban and land qualification, access to housing and for strategic intervention in the area of influence of the Chancay port terminal.
There will also be space to legislate on citizen security and national defense in the field of intelligence, counterintelligence and digital security.
The powers requested by the Executive will be valid for 90 calendar days from the delivery of the law into force, which must still be subject to debate within the Constitution and Regulations Commission of Congress.
