Osiptel confirms fines for more than S / 2.4 million against Telefónica

The Supervising Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel) declared an appeal filed by Telefónica del Peru unfounded, and confirmed eleven sanctions of 51 UIT each against the company, which total just over S / 2.4 million soles.

In detail, four fines of 51 UITs each are imposed for infractions in the quality regulation, for publishing inaccurate information on its website about the values ​​of the Indicators Rate of Non-Established Attempts (TINE) and Rate of Interrupted Calls (TLLI) of the mobile public service, given that said information does not coincide with the results obtained by Osiptel in the first, second, third and fourth quarters of 2017.

In addition, five fines of 51 UIT each for failing to comply with the objective values ​​of the TINE indicator in the departments of Cajamarca, Ica and Ucayali, during the first quarter of 2017; as well as in Huancavelica during the second quarter of 2017 and in Loreto, during the third quarter of said year.

Finally, two fines of 51 UIT each are applied for failing to meet the target value of the TLLI indicator in the departments of Cajamarca and Ucayali, during the first quarter of 2017.

The resolution published today in El Peruano details that the administrative route is exhausted, and no further recourse proceeds.
