Tacna. The Ministry of Economy and Finance transferred S / 14 million 921 thousand 936 to the regional government for the payment of social debt with the unemployed and retired workers of the Hipólito Unanue Hospital, the Regional Directorate of Health (Diresa), Regional Directorate of Agriculture, Regional Directorate of Transport and Communications, the Tacna Special Project and the headquarters of the regional government.
The social debt consists of all those payments, benefits or bonuses that by law corresponded to a worker but were not paid by the Peruvian State. To achieve recognition of these debts, the workers filed lawsuits (which they won).
For the headquarters will be allocated S / 645,452, to the PET the sum of S / 654,456 and for Agriculture S / 206,039. While the Department of Transportation will pay more than one million soles, the Diresa almost seven million and the Unanue five million 348 thousand 531. In sum, more than 1200 will benefit from this transfer.
The regional government announced that payment will be made before the end of the month, without giving an exact day of payment. “One of the highest amounts is going to be transferred to Tacna thanks to the work of agencies such as the Attorney General’s Office, Administration, Budget, Legal Advice (…)” declared Rolando Liendo Yactayo, Administration Manager of the Region.
Through the social networks, the citizens asked the Region to comply with what was announced and not to play with the illusion of the workers.
