Pensión 65: 29,000 older adults received a debit card for the first time

12 years after the creation of the Pensión 65 program, some 67,000 users received their financial subsidy in advance in 157 Banco de la Nación agencies throughout the country.

During the day, the regions in which the most users were served were Lima, Cajamarca, Lambayeque, Piura, Loreto, San Martín, Puno, Cusco, Ica, La Libertad, Junín and Piura.

This extraordinary edition, called ‘Pagatón and Sunday card’ at the national level, allowed nearly 29,000 older adults to also process their debit card for the first time, as part of the collection modernization strategy.

In this way, users will be able to withdraw their bimonthly financial subsidy of S/250 quickly and easily. in the 242 agents within the BN agencies and in more than 14,000 authorized agents, MultiRed ATMs and commercial establishments with POS systems throughout the country.

“To date, more than 232,000 users already have this tool. Financial inclusion does not end there, because older adults and their families are constantly trained to make good and safe use of their cards,” said the executive director of Pensión 65, Julio Mendigure.
