The president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzén, reported that this month the contract for the generation of the feasibility study for the third stage of Chavimochic will be signed with Canada.
During his participation in Congress – where he hopes to receive the vote of confidence – Adrianzén pointed out that Dina Boluarte’s management “complied” with reactivating the Chavimochic III irrigation project, which was paralyzed for eight years.
“This project was managed to be unblocked in just 7 months, thanks to a Government-to-Government agreement, with Canada being the country in charge of carrying out its execution,” he said.
Adrianzén stressed that the project will be beneficial for La Libertad and will promote the economy and production, generating 126,000 jobs and increasing foreign exchange by US$1.3 billion.
Chavimochic III will positively impact 38,850 families and cover the irrigation water needs of 111,000 hectares; and will allow the liquid element to be supplied to approximately 1.8 million people in Trujillo, thereby taking advantage of the water potential of the Santa River.
