Sergio Gonzales Guerrero was sworn in as the new Minister of Production, replacing Ana María Choquehuanca. The new head of Produce worked at Fondepes and will have among his main challenges the reactivation of the fishing sector, the economic activity hardest hit in 2023 as a result of the climate change.
On the night of Monday, April 1, President Dina Boluarte swore in the new ministers of State. Walter Ortiz Acosta was sworn in as head of the Ministry of the Interior, Morgan Quero Gaime in the office of the Ministry of Education and Ángel Manero Campos in the portfolio of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation. Likewise, Sergio González Guerrero in the portfolio of the Ministry of Production, Elizabeth Galdo Marín in Mincetur and Ángela Hernández Cajo as the new minister of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations.
The Presidency reported that the new head of the portfolio has extensive experience in the public sector, having held several administrative positions in the Production, Environment, and Transportation and Communications portfolios.
