Shortly after Women’s Month ended, MIDOT reported that teams led by women perform better in companies in order to avoid risks and accidents, as well as the ability to balance their lives and those of their colleagues.
49% of Peruvian women are able to prevent complicated scenarios. We have the same rate as Mexico, and barely surpassed by Colombia.
“This result shows us that teams led by women have greater awareness of self-care, even promoting a better culture of prevention and adherence to protocols than men,” pointed out Iraiz Ortiz, expert in identifying unsafe behaviors and consultant specialized in Workplace Safety at MIDOT.
On the other hand, Only 7% of Peruvian workers in a company are in a “risk zone”: more likely to commit unsafe acts and have accidents. In men, the indicator is 11% (at the regional level).
MIDOT emphasizes that although men have more knowledge about safety —60% compared to 59%— it is women who have better skills to avoid risks.
