The Minister of Economy and Finance, José Arista, assured that the Peruvian economy must aim to grow 5% after the recession, and to do so, it will be vital to attack citizen insecurity and corruption.
To RPP, the official stated that “we must aspire to grow at rates close to 5%” with the intention of reducing poverty and generating more employment, and along those lines, “reduce citizen insecurity and corruption; and, thirdly, promote an attractive investment climate.”
In the official’s opinion, citizen insecurity affects GDP by 3.5%, while corruption affects 2%.
Arista announced that one of its goals is to recover one annual point of GDP considering the two lost in terms of collection.
