The lottery administrations mobilize tomorrow for the update of commissions

They are called not to open the blinds of their establishments, to claim an increase in sales commissions, frozen for 17 years. For every tenth sold, only 4% (80 gross cents) go to the seller; then, in addition, there are charges to be applied.

The sellers of lottery of the Spanish State are called to the strike tomorrow, December 22, Christmas Lottery day. They are asked do not open their administrations to report that they have commissions frozen for 17 years.

The sector has mobilized through social networks, in the Loteros en lucha movement. They ask that the administrations not open tomorrow and thus delay the payment of the prizes, to make their situation visible and pressure the State to listen to their requests.

Above all, they demand the updating of commissions. In the case of Christmas lottery, the selling administration obtains a 4% commission of what it sells, that is, 80 cents per tenth sold. The rest of the products sold throughout the year are above that percentage, an average of 6%, so they ask that the benefit of the Christmas Lottery be raised to that percentage.

This was promised almost two decades ago by LoterĂas y Apuestas del Estado. But what was promised is not yet fulfilled. They denounce that year after year they lose purchasing power.

In addition, they have explained that to this 4% it is necessary to apply taxes and other deductions, reason why what remains for the seller is a “trifle”.
