The State gives S/500 to rent a home in case of emergency: how to request this benefit?

He Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) has launched the Housing Leasing Bonus for Emergencies (BAE), widely known as the rain bonus. This effort is intended to provide economic assistance to Peruvian families who have been harmed by recent heavy rains, which have caused serious inconvenience to millions of the country’s inhabitants.

Find out below how to determine if you are one of the beneficiaries of this important subsidy that gives S/500 to rent a home.

What is the Housing Leasing Bonus for Emergencies (BAE)?

He BAE represents a collaboration between Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) and the Mivivienda Fund (FMV), through which a monthly financial aid of S/500 is granted to families that have been affected by natural disasters or human actions with the consequent disabling of their homes.

This subsidy has the purpose of supporting the rental of a home equipped with basic services for a period of no more than two years. In this way, it seeks to provide a safe environment for those who face the task of overcoming the consequences of such adversities.

How to access the rain bonus of S/500?

To begin the procedure for awarding the Housing Leasing Bond for Emergencies (BAE)it is necessary for local governments to refer to the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) an updated list of families affected by calamities.

This step involves uploading relevant information to the National Information System for Response and Rehabilitation (Sinpad), administered by the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci). It must specify both the number of impacted homes and the nature of the damage and the data on the affected families.

Later, once the MVCS has carried out an exhaustive review of these data, a ministerial resolution will be published that will formalize the call for candidates for the bond. The eligible geographic areas and the deadlines established for the process will be detailed.

The families that are selected will then have a period of 10 days to locate accommodation that meets the necessary requirements and proceed to rent it using the bond.

What requirements does the rain bonus require?

To qualify as beneficiaries of the BAE bonus, interested families must satisfy two fundamental criteria. First, the home they previously occupied as a residence must be classified as uninhabitable or completely destroyed.

Secondly, the property you wish to rent using this subsidy must be located in an area considered safe. It is crucial that families affected by the recent rainfall know and comply with these requirements in order to take advantage of this vital economic assistance during adverse times.
