Longitudinal of the Sierra Section 4 arouses interest

Some eight bidders, including national and international companies and consortiums, have presented their documents (envelope No. 1) to be declared as “prequalified bidders” in the tender for the comprehensive project in the Carretera Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 concession, reported Proinvestment.

The credentials correspond to companies and consortiums of Peruvian, Latin American, European and Asian origin with global experience in the construction and operation of road projects.

The Sierra Longitudinal Highway project Section 4 requires an estimated investment of US$934 million (without VAT) and will be awarded in the second quarter of 2024.

The concession period will be 25 years, under the modality of co-financed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and more than 900 kilometers that connect the regions of Junín, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurímac and Ica.

Of those 900 kilometers, 727 correspond to initial periodic maintenance, 180 to rehabilitation and improvement, 5 to construction of the San Clemente bypass in Ica and the remaining kilometers will be delivered by the sector to be operated and maintained from the beginning of the concession.

“This seeks to achieve levels of walkability, comfort and safety for users,” the entity stressed.

Schedule

Proinversión stressed that the final list of prequalified candidates will be announced, in accordance with the process schedule, after evaluating compliance with the technical, financial and legal requirements demanded in the bases of the public tender. Of the eight, six have already pre-qualified, and the other two are in the evaluation process.

Pre-qualified bidders will be eligible to submit their technical (envelope #2) and economic (envelope #3) proposal for the project. Longitudinal of the Sierra Section 4.

The rehabilitation, operation and maintenance of this large road network will allow an efficient connection between the beneficiary cities and towns, which will facilitate the transfer of goods and services, and will boost commerce, productive and industrial activity and tourism in each of them. .

Likewise, the execution of the project will reduce the logistics and transaction costs derived from the mobilization of goods and people, and will improve the quality of life of more than 1.6 million people in the five regions, which facilitates access to public services. and provides economic opportunities.
