The total import and export of products from China registered a year-on-year increase of 8.7% in yuan terms during the first two months of 2024, according to official data published this Thursday by the General Administration of Customs (AGA) of that country.
From January to February, foreign trade in goods from the Asian giant, Peru’s main trading partner, amounted to 6.61 trillion yuan (around US$930.96 billion), Xinhua detailed.
Exports grew by 10.3% year-on-year to 3.75 trillion yuan, while imports increased by 6.7% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 2.86 trillion yuan.
During the first two months of 2024, the country’s goods trade continued the upward momentum of last year’s fourth quarter, recording year-on-year growth for the fifth consecutive month, AGA official Lyu Daliang said, adding that imports and exports during the period have reached a historical maximum.
