Exchange rate: dollar starts falling at S/3.7676 this Monday, March 4

The dollar exchange rate began downwards this week and stood at S/3.7676 this Monday, March 4, according to preliminary data from the Bloomberg international currency exchange portal.

On the last day of Friday, the greenback had started its career above S/3.7750 and then progressed to the official closing of S/3.7680 set by the Central Reserve Bank (BCRP).

At the local level, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) is expected to present this month, in advance and as former minister Alex Contreras had offered, its macro projection update report, even though it normally comes out in April-May.

Internationally, First Quantum Minerals Ltd.’s second-largest shareholder bought an additional C$287.5 million ($212 million) in shares of the metals producer that has been hit by the forced closure of its iconic copper mine in Panama.
