Petroperú will have a 40% stake in Lot X of Talara

The Perupetro agency will launch this Wednesday the Call Process for Lot X, with 60% participation from the private sector over the next 30 years.

Petroperú will have a 40% interest in Lot X of Talara, the largest in the northwest basin, in a contract that it will sign with a private company for 30 years.

Sector sources informed La República that Perupetro hopes to have the new contract ready before the deadline, next May 19, since no more than 45 days were taken for its two predecessor lots, VI and Z. 2B.

For this purpose, a conference will be held this Wednesday, February 28, where the details of the new Call Process for Lot

Subsequently, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Rómulo Mucho, confirmed the news in RPP and said that “a mix concession” will be made since Petroperú “is going through difficult times.”

Among those interested in assuming 60% of Lot X, the official acknowledged that there are Chinese companies. Currently the operation – which concentrates 70% of Talara’s production – is in the hands of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
