MyPerú Boost: S/900 million are assigned in guarantees for the benefit of mypes

Cofide, the Development Bank of Peru, held a new auction of the Impulso Myperú program, in which it assigned S/900 million in guarantees, which will contribute to continue benefiting thousands of mype companies and entrepreneurs throughout the country, as reported.

This result, added to the previous ones, totals S/8,300 million in guarantees assigned to participating entities of the financial systemout of a total of S/15,000 million that the program has.

This is the third auction that includes a new methodology for assigning amounts in guarantees, in order to encourage access to credit for new clients, those who have not received credits in the last 12 months or those who belong to sectors affected by the crisis, such as tourism, construction, agriculture and fishing.

Who benefited?

In the results, It highlights that 27% of the awarded amounts have been destined for new clients for the participating entities and those who have not accessed credit in the last year.which opens the opportunity for more mypes to benefit from the benefits of the program.

On this occasion, 14 entities participated: the banks Interbank, BBVA and Alfin; the financial companies Confianza and Proempresa; the CMAC Cusco, Del Santa, Ica, Paita, Piura, Huancayo and Arequipa; CRAC Los Andes and the Alternative Credit Company.

The weighted average rate of this auction was 13.97%, similar to the average of all previous auctions, which represents a value well below that offered by the Financial System for MSME loans (greater than 30%). These competitive rates will be transferred to the final beneficiaries, Cofide stated.

As of February 16, this program has allowed the disbursement of credits for more than S/2,557 million for the benefit of nearly 112,000 entrepreneurs throughout the country. 35% of these beneficiaries accessed credit to purchase fixed assets, 33% for working capital, while 32% used it to consolidate their debts. In addition to the amount disbursed, 24.7% corresponds to Lima and 75.3% to other regions, led by Puno (11%), Arequipa (8.63%) and Piura (7%).
