Through bill No. 7103/2023-CR, the aim is to balance minimum pensions with the minimum salary for members of the National Pension System.

The proposal, presented by Bernardo Quito Sarmiento, proposes that every person have access to a dignified old age in accordance with the cost of living and fundamental needs of retirees in the national system, and sets the adjustment within a maximum period of three years.

It is worth noting that since General Confederation of Workers of Peru (CGTP) and the National Central Union of Retirees and Pensioners of Peru An increase in both the RMV and pensions is required. They assure that in a fairer scenario, both amounts should align.

Currently, the RMV is S/1,025 and the minimum pension in the SNP is S/500.

The document presented in Congress also establishes a complementary pension contribution payable by the employer, which should not affect the remuneration to be paid or its pension contribution.
