Peru’s GDP would grow 3.2% in 2022, according to LatinFocus

According to analysts from FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast LatinFocus, Peru’s growth projection for the year 2022 will be 3.2%, above the average for Latin America (2.5%), although below the world average (4.3%), analysts estimated.

Peru will also register a growth higher than Japan next year (2.6%). In addition, it will show an expansion greater than the Latin American average in the next six years, according to the FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast LatinFocus in its December 2021 report.

In this way, the Peruvian GDP will grow 12.1% in 2021; 3.2% in 2022; 3% in 2023; 3.1% in 2024; 3.2% in 2025 and 3.3% in 2026. Meanwhile, the Latin American average will advance 6.5% in 2021, 2.5% in 2022, 2.3% in 2023, 2.4 % in 2024, 2.4% in 2025 and 2.5% in 2026; the analysts estimated.

Likewise, they again revised Peru’s growth projection for this year, which they calculated at 12.1%, from an advance of 11.2% forecast last November, in this way the country will expand more than the regional and world average.

With respect to other countries, Peru will have a greater expansion. Compared with China, it will grow 8.1%; with the United States, it will have an advantage of 5.7%; with the Euro zone, 5% and, with Japan, 2.3% for this year.

Peru will lead growth this year in Latin America with the advance of 12.1%, followed by Chile, Colombia and Argentina with expansions of 11.1%; 8.6% and 8.6% respectively.

They will be followed by productive activities in Mexico, with 5.8%; Bolivia, with 5.7%; Brazil, with 4.9%; Paraguay, with 4.7%; Ecuador, with 3.5% and Uruguay, with 3.12%.

In 2022, Peru will register a growth of 3.2%, occupying the fourth position in Latin America together with Uruguay, with 3.2% also, after Colombia, Paraguay and Bolivia, whose advances will be 4.1%, 3.6% and 3.3% respectively.

In addition, it will be followed by productive activities in Mexico, with 2.9%; Ecuador, with 2.9%; Chile, with 2.7%; Argentina, with 2.7% and Brazil, with 1.2%.

Location 2023 and 2024

For the year 2023, Peru has positive projections, since they would expand 3% in the region, ranking fourth, after Paraguay, Colombia and Bolivia, whose advances will be 4%; 3.2% and 3.1% respectively.

They will be followed by Uruguay with 2.6%, Mexico with 2.2%, Ecuador with 2.2%, Argentina with 2.1%, Brazil 1.9% and Chile 1.9%.

By 2024, the Peruvian GDP will register a 3.1% growth. In this way, it will occupy the third position after Paraguay, Colombia and Bolivia, with advances of 3.8%; 3.2% and 3.2% respectively.

Uruguay’s economic activities will follow, with 2.6%; Mexico, with 2.3%; Argentina, with 2.2%; Ecuador, with 2.2%; Brazil, with 2.1% and Chile, with 2.1%.
