Through legal regulations, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) announced the arrival of Betty Sotelo Bazán to the position of Vice Minister of Finance.
Thus, the official will replace Rodolfo Baca Gómez Sánchez. Before her new position, Sotelo was executive director of the National Fund for Financing State Business Activity (Fonafe) since June 2023.
Sotelo Bazán is an economist from the Federico Villareal National University and a graduate of the Master of Public Management from the Universidad del Pacífico.
Previously she was also General Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Economy, general director of the General Office of Investments and Projects and general director of Debt and Public Treasury.
