PCM delegation travels to Las Bambas to intercede for the departure of workers

The president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vasquez, reported that a team from the PCM Dialogue Secretariat left today for the Las Bambas area, in Cusco, with the aim of materializing the humanitarian pass, letting workers out and allowing the entry of a minimum group for critical activities and ” avoid environmental impacts ”.

Through her Twitter account, the premier specified that it is important to guarantee a humanitarian pass that protects the safety of workers and essential personnel to avoid environmental impacts and private property.

“I have arranged for the PCM Dialogue Secretariat team to go to Las Bambas to dialogue and agree on this objective. The team has traveled to the province of Chumbivilcas, part of the mining corridor, where a road blockage persists, ”said Vásquez.

As it is recalled, the day before President Pedro Castillo met in the Government Palace with twelve important businessmen from the mining sector, a meeting in which they addressed issues such as constructive dialogue for the resolution of conflicts and the competitiveness of the mining industry at the level of international.

Upon leaving, the businessmen of the sector expressed their willingness to work together with the Executive Power and the communities.

The representatives of Newmont, Nexa, Hoschild Mining PLC, Antamina, Goldfields, Minera powerful, Anglo American, Marsa, Minsur, Buenaventura, Cerro Verde and Las Bambas were present at the meeting.
