Impulso MyPerú: Cofide allocated S/800 million in loans for mypes, announces the MEF

The development bank of Peru (Cofide) achieved a record allocation of S/800 million (US$213 million) in guarantees in favor of micro, small and medium-sized companies to access credit, in a first auction of the Impulso MyPerú program, according to this financial entity reported on Tuesday.

“With a record allocation of S/800 million in guarantees, we marked the highest milestone since the beginning of the auctions, adding an extraordinary total of S/5,300 million (US$1,415 million) in support for entrepreneurs,” Cofide announced in its account. from social network X.

The entity explained that the auction sought to encourage the incorporation of clients without credit history, new clients and sectors impacted by the crisis, such as tourism, construction, agriculture and fishing.

In turn, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras, highlighted the Cofide auction that placed the funds at a rate of 13.8% for participating mypes.

“Complying with the mypes. Tremendous auction of Impulso MyPerú! S/800 million at 13.8% interest rate,” Contreras wrote in his X account.

The minister highlighted that “it is the first auction that encourages the inclusion of clients without credits in the last 12 months or without a history of credits in the local financial system or who are in the most affected sectors: agriculture, tourism, fishing, construction.”

The mype sector is the largest in the country’s business fabric and the benefited sectors are those that have seen the sharpest drop in their production in 2023, when the Peruvian economy reported a recession, after 25 years.
