However, there is a new functionality that has sparked the interest of those looking to buy gas quickly and easily.
Currently, Yape has implemented a mechanism to integrate into the gas distribution system, in which users can request and pay for their gas without having to carry cash or call a distributor. Although this functionality is available in nine districts of Lima, it is expected to be enabled in other areas of Peru. Below, learn how to use it and what brands of gas you can order.
Yape announces new function to buy your gas bottle
For a few months now, the alliance between Yape and Primaxgas has facilitated the process of purchasing gas cylinders through their sales channel in the ‘Yape promos’ section. Now, Alonso Luna, Product Owner of Yape, announced in statements to the Andina agency that this new functionality will benefit one million people in the first year and will simplify the experience of “requesting a gas cylinder and being able to pay directly with the app without need to carry cash, call a distributor or even write on WhatsApp.”
“While currently the functionality is available for nine districts of the capital. At the end of March, it will be enabled for all of Metropolitan Lima and Callao. We hope that in the first half of the year we will begin to gradually add more cities in Peru”he added.
Buy your gas cylinder with Yape! Know how it works
To access this new function from Yape, which teamed up with Primax Gas, the only brand that can be requested so farusers should follow these steps:
- Open your Yape application and enter the ‘See more’ option. Then, locate the ‘Purchases’ section and select ‘Order gas’, which will appear with a yellow ‘New’ notice.
- With this new functionality, you will be able to know the gas orders you placed and if you did not do so, you will be able to review the price of these products, which amount to approximately S/51.
- Select the ‘Place order’ option and enter your delivery address.
- Choose between the regular or premium ball options and press ‘continue’ to make your purchase.
- Finally, you will know the estimated time of receipt and details of your payment. Just press the ‘Yap’ button and the order will be automatically fulfilled by a Primax Gas distributor.

According to Alonso Luna, Yape Product Owner, this new option is enabled in nine districts of Lima and it is expected that it will be available in other areas of the country by the end of March.
