The trade balance accumulated, in the last twelve months to November 2023, a surplus of US$16,891 million, reported the Central Reserve Bank (BCRP).

In monthly terms, the trade balance registered a surplus of US$1,932 million in November and US$15,259 million in the accumulated January-November 2023.

Exports in November totaled US$5,886 million, 16.4% higher compared to what was registered in the same month of 2022, due to higher shipments of copper, gold, zinc and non-traditional products (chemicals, non-metallic mining and agricultural products). ) and, to a lesser extent, due to an increase in export prices (gold, copper and non-traditional agricultural products).

“External sales accumulated in the eleven months of last year reached US$60,836 million, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2022,” says the BCRP report.

For their part, imports fell 10.8% in November to US$3,954 million, mainly reflecting the reduction in fuels and industrial inputs, both in prices and volumes.

From January to November 2023, the country’s highest issuing entity confirmed, accumulated purchases from abroad decreased 11.3% in Peru, reaching US$45,577 million.
