From January 2, personal payment of real estate taxes will be made possible in several locations across the country, one of which is Guayaquil.

Every year, several property owners go to the municipal facilities from dawn to line up.

It is repeated that this is not necessary, despite the fact that many claim that they do it in order to get a discount on the first days.

Property tax for 2024 can be paid from January 1 in Guayaquil

The Cabildo indicated that it is preparing to facilitate the procedure for users and take advantage of the 10% applied during the first 15 days of January, given that the attention has been extended from 07:00 to 17:00.

In addition, the number of storefronts will be increased to 20 and four kiosk modules will be installed. There will be a special line for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

Persons over the age of 65 may qualify for exemption from property tax, as determined by the Organic Law on the Elderly.

For that, you have to complete the process digitally on the portal www.guayaquil.gob.ec and complete some steps to be able to submit your request.

1- After the person accesses the website, he has to go to the tab Online service. When it opens connection The Queries and Procedures option appears. The applicant must search in the Procedures section.

2.- Already in the Procedures section, the taxpayer must go to the designated area Application for an exemption for the elderly. When this card is opened, it is indicated that the candidates must meet two conditions: they must be 65 years old on January 1 of the year for the exemption, and their monthly income must not exceed a maximum of 5 unique basic incomes and their assets 500 unique basic salaries. It is clarified that in case of higher income or assets, tax will be paid only on the difference or surplus.

3. If the applicant meets these conditions, he can apply. The first thing that will be required is for the applicant to indicate that the request is for real estate, and it must include an e-mail for notification, a phone number and an address. Once this is registered, an option appears at the bottom to enter the ID of the property owner that will benefit.
