Completing the top ten were China (US$929,567), Bolivia (US$363,008), Chile (US$354,945), Netherlands (US$307,627), Germany (US$225,487), South Korea (US$208,255), Panama (US$207,222) and Australia. Due to their high growth rate, regardless of the FOB value, several countries located in the top 10 positions stood out, such as the Netherlands (1,421.7%), Bolivia (557%), Panama (295.3%), Chile (194.5%) and Germany (181.4%).

It should be remembered that in 2022 (between January and December), shipments of these products increased by 17%, totaling US$12 million 678,000 versus US$10 million 840,000 in 2021.

The most important item was toys that represent animals or non-human beings, with US$8 million 081,000, which represented 83.2%. Others were other models of toys (US$886,501), dolls and even dresses (US$256,876), reduced models for entertainment (US$230,304), games (US$88,402), puzzles (US$74,164), among others.

Millennials drive market

According to Mordor Intelligence, the global toys and games market was valued, as of last November, at US$261,065 million, and is projected to register an annual rate of increase of 10% in the next 5 years.

In addition, Due to the presence of millennials and the generation Z population, the sector is evolving favorably. Mid-range toys and games are the best sellers and sports and outdoor toys contribute the largest share of the studied market, followed by dolls.

On the other hand, the release of new movies or cartoons further drives the marketing of action figures and accessories, making them the fastest growing segment. Therefore, companies add more toys to their offering, especially during the Christmas season, when sales increase exponentially.

A CIEN-ADEX report indicates that companies are transforming the marketing of their products by launching online stores and the retail sale of toys and games through e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Walmart Online and eBay.

Likewise, they improve communication with their customers in the digital field, digitize their services and promote omnichannel in the order purchasing and delivery process.
