12,900 Fonavistas collected their contributions on the first day

Yesterday, hundreds of older adults throughout the country went to the Banco de la Nación agencies to collect an advance of the money they contributed to the National Housing Fund (Fonavi), but only 12,900 agreed to the payment according to the schedule. Today they will continue with Fonavistas whose DNI ends with the digits 2 and 3, the entity reported.

The day was unfortunately full of incidents, since many of the people who went to the bank were not part of the published register and could not access any money. But there was also the case of people who received an amount far below their expectations. Like a 68-year-old taxi driver, who, after having contributed more than a decade, only received S/46.

Nicolasa Ventura (68 years old), widow of a former contributor, also approached the bank’s agencies in the Conde de Superunda neighborhood in downtown Lima to find out if the payment corresponds to her, but the counselors told her that her husband was on the lists. previous; therefore, she should continue waiting.

“I don’t even receive a pension, now if something comes out, they’re going to give me a pittance of S/200 for sure, what am I going to do with that, if I’m sick,” she told this medium.

While Susana Fausta (70 years old) arrived from Huaraz with the printed payment schedule, which stated that people who have 0 and 1 as the last digit of the DNI were to collect on Thursday; However, she was not on the registry either, because she was part of list 7.

On the other hand, there are people who took out a loan from the Materials Bank and, despite having paid off their debt with interest, are still excluded from the refund as they are considered to have “benefited” from these resources.

“I have contributed for more than 18 years (…) Now they have not given me any information, they have only told me that I have to wait for the ad hoc commission to review my case,” commented Rosa Garay (73 years old).

Next group will be known in January

Although the ad hoc commission welcomed the resumption of the return of contributions, it criticized that the actions of the Executive Branch have limited the number of people who make up group 20, which has resulted in ex-fonavistas earning “only S/46 , S/60 and S/78”. “Payments that have to be reviewed immediately by the Technical Secretariat,” they maintained.

In addition, a member of this working group confirmed to La República that on Thursday, January 4, 2024, they will meet to define the next group of payments. This will be made up of those who were part of the 19 lists, but did not make the payment. Likewise, it was specified that they will seek to have a larger group.

For its part, the Technical Secretariat asked the relatives of Fonavistas to check the website “fonavi-st.gob.pe” to verify if they are on the registry, and thus avoid unnecessary trips to the bank.

Reactions

Próspero Valer, 80-year-old Fonavista

“Before the pandemic I have earned a little more than S/1,000, now they told me that they were going to pay more than S/3,000, that is why I have come from Junín. But they tell me that I have to wait for the next listing.”

Eduardo Gaytán, representative of the Technical Secretariat

“Let’s remember that there were already 19 payment lists, if they already appeared in those groups, it is not their responsibility to collect. The Technical Secretariat and the ad hoc commission are working to consider them in the next groups.”
