During the mandatory breaks, private banks guarantee the provision of financial services through different channels, the Association of Private Banks of Ecuador (Assobanca) reported.

Private banks will serve in person only in offices with extended working hours.

Sobanca recommends to clients consult official channels of banking entities for agencies enabled during delayed working hours.

During the holidays, three more channels will be available:

Almost 90% of the most frequently used banking services are available digitally, among other things through online bank portals, mobile applications, chatbots.

Asobanca recommends citizens to opt for these channels because they are safer and faster for performing bank transactions.

High levels of insecurity and the increase in transactions involving the use of cash present security challenges for banks and the national police in terms of preventing, mitigating and fighting theft, fraud and other crimes, says Asobanc.

“Private banks recommend the use of digital banking as an economical, secure, agile and efficient mechanism for executing and receiving cash payments,” the union states.
