The Family Housing Bonus (BFH) of Own roof It offers Peruvians three types of help: purchase, construction and improvement. On this occasion we will talk about the bonus of S/10,580 for home improvement which covers remodeling, rehabilitation, completion or expansion of a property.

It should be noted that, as indicated on the Mivivienda Fund, this money is a reward provided by the Peruvian State for your saving efforts and is not returned. Below, we explain the requirements and how to apply.

What requirements must I meet to IMPROVE my home with the Family Housing Bonus (BFH)?

To apply for this bonus provided by the Peruvian State and which is non-refundable, you will only have to meet three simple requirements.

• You must have a home registered in Public Registries without charges or encumbrances
• Not be the owner of another land or home nationwide.
• You must have a minimum savings of S/920 (does not include ITF or commission, so you must add them).

How can I improve my house with the Techo Propio program?

Once you meet the requirements, you must be aware that there is a current call in the province where you have your home so that you can register. Once enrolled in the program, you must choose an authorized technical entity (ET). Here you can consult the current technical entities.

Next, you must sign a construction contract with the ET you choose. Don’t forget to request a copy of the contract to know your rights and duties, as well as those of the technical entity.

Finally, the ET will notify you when you must deposit your family group’s savings into the FMV (Own Roof – Home Improvement) collection account of Banco Interbank. It should be noted that the improvement works begin once the MiVivienda Fund disburses the bonus to the technical entity.
