What security features does the new S/200 bill have?

The new Tilsa Tsuchiya banknotes have the same security elements as the family of modern banknotes, among which the S/10 with the image of Chabuca Granda, the S/20 that presents the figure of José María Arguedas and others stand out. . If you want to identify the authenticity of the currency with the highest cash value and prevent any type of counterfeiting, pay attention to the following data:

  • Watermark: It is located on the left side of the S/200 bill and Tilsa Tsuchiya’s face can be seen against the light, as well as the denomination in numbers within a triangular area.
  • Intersalient security thread: It is green and you can see it better when you turn the bill back and forth. In this way, the Andean cross increases and decreases in size.
  • Color changing ink: It is located in the lower right corner and you can see it better when you turn the bill. So, this element called Spark Live design changes from gold to green and in the background you will notice a moving triangular figure.
  • Latent Image: On the right side of the bill and below the value in numbers, you can see the hidden number that corresponds to the denomination 200, which can be seen when placing the bill in a tangential position to a light source.

What does the new S/200 bill look like?

The design of new S/200 bill It was run by the prestigious English company De La Rue International Limited, which won the competition organized by the Central Reserve Bank, in which various banknote printers from around the world participated. This badge is characterized by its predominant lavender tone and because it is made of 100% cotton.

Furthermore, its design incorporates significant elements of Peruvian and universal culture that are reflected in Tilsa Tsuchiya Castillo, whose works reflect indigenous mythology with influences from Europe. With this new banknote, the aim is to reinforce the national identity and the dissemination of emblematic figures in monetary circulation.

To be more precise in the description of this currency, we can see that its obverse has relief impressions that are perceptible to the touch and that are located mainly in the legend “Banco Central de Reserva del Perú”, the character, the denomination in numbers and letters, as well as the registration for the blind located on the left side.

Finally, the reverse of the bill is designed in vertical format and shows the images of the cock-of-the-rock and the Bella Abanquina flower. Likewise, you can see the coat of arms and the denomination in numbers and letters in two colors.

What is the new family of banknotes?
