Electricity Bonus: final list of beneficiaries of the subsidy is approved

Osinergmin made official the final list of beneficiaries of the Electricity Bonus, created by Law 31688, which manages coverage of more than 2.7 million users in the national territory.

Through the resolution of the Rate Regulation Management OSINERGMIN-089-2023-OS/GRT, the Peruvian Government establishes that a total of 29 electricity distribution companies will receive the budget intended to assist families affected by the recession.

According to the new procedure, the settlement of application of the Electricity Bonus totals more than S/81.3 million among all companies. For example, in the case of Luz del Sur, there will be 142,292 meters with a settlement of S/4 million 16,171.

The distributors with the most supplies recognized for the subsidy are Hidrandina (371,140), Electrocentro (354,678) and Enel Distribución (290,327), the latter operating in northern Lima.

Likewise, Osinergmin approved the amounts that the electricity distribution companies must return to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) within 10 calendar days of publishing this resolution for not having been used for the application of the Electricity Bonus.

The amount of returns amounts to S/67.5 million after transferring a total of S/148.9 million, the regulatory body specifies.

The Electricity Bonus is a subsidy created in February 2023. It is a “unique and exceptional” bonus of up to S/30 that will be distributed in three service payment receipts for up to an amount of S/10, for the benefit of users who are in a vulnerable socioeconomic situation.
