After 4 years of waiting, the return of contributions from the National Housing Fund (Fonavi) will be resumed, since the regulations that make this process viable were published yesterday. He Executive power reported that payments will begin to be made effective next Thursday, December 21 in the agencies of the Banco de la Nación.
Likewise, he pointed out that on this occasion the beneficiaries will be 60,000 older adults, and the total amount they will receive amounts to S/160 million.
The president of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola, said in a local media that the people who will collect will be those who are over 60 years old, and have not previously received any part of their money.
However, the president of the ad hoc commission, Luis Luzuriaga, explained to La República that the Executive is moving ahead with information that has not yet been approved by the working group he leads.
While it is true that he agrees with payments starting on Thursday – or before, if possible – he does not believe that it should be limited to just one group, but rather that everyone whose contributions have already been identified must be includedthat is, 1.2 million people, and that is the position that will continue to be promoted in the commission.
For the leader, this would be a new maneuver to delay payments, since by returning the S/2.3 billion that are in the accounts, the State would have to start paying its debt so that the payment process is not interrupted. But in the 2024 public budget, recently approved in Parliament, nothing has been considered for Fonavistas.
“That position has been advanced that has not yet been determined in the commission. (Today) all of that is just going to be defined. What I consider is that this has been a way of putting pressure on it to take it to the extreme and only start paying a small group,” he commented.
It should be noted that this working group, which will meet today from 9:30 am, has seven members, of which four are representatives of the Executive Branch and only three from the Fonavistas.
Debtors will also collect
In the event that the Fonavista has already died, the payment will be made to his relatives, being the first in the order of priority; the spouse, then the children, parents and siblings follow.
According to the Fonavistas union, More than 300,000 former exporters have already died by 2020although this figure will be updated in the coming days with information from the Reniec.
They demand attention
Since the early hours of yesterday, dozens of older adults formed several blocks of queue outside the Fonavi Technical Secretariat to be informed when they will be paid and where; However, the only message was that they should continue waiting.
“I came before and they told me that on (Thursday) the 14th I should come so they can tell me where I am going to get paid, I have had to leave my sick relatives and I come and they tell me that there is no care,” said Mrs. Claudia, an adult major that moved from Comas to Lima’s center, added that the treatment they were given is not fair when the money they are asking for is what they contributed during years of work. “They are not giving us the money,” she said.
Similar was the case of Segundo Ravelo, an 83-year-old pensioner, who after standing in line for more than four hours was told that he had to return on Wednesday the 20th.Now I’m sure I’ll come on the 20th and they’re going to tell me that in order tos. No, this is a scam, guys,” said the indignant former contributor.
In this regard, the Fonavista leader recommended to former contributors and their families that they wait until next Wednesday the 20th to access the website of the Technical Secretariat, where they will find the list of people who will receive their payment.
Additionally, from there you will access your Certificate of Recognition of Contributions and Rights (CERAD) that you can download and print to be able to access the return.
Reactions
José León, Fonavista
“They tell us to wait, but we already waited 20 years. It would be good if the Minister of Economy told the truth. “I need the money to operate on my eyes and ears, to take care of my illnesses.”
Alberto Otárola, president of the Council of Ministers
“I want to reaffirm President Boluarte’s strong will to comply with the payment to the Fonavistas. “We are going to try to ensure that this process is orderly and completed, above all, on Christmas Eve.”
