The Government made official the restart of the process of returning contributions to the National Housing Fund (Fonavi) after the publication of the regulations Supreme Decree No. 280-2023-EFlaunched this Thursday the 14th in El Peruano.
With this, the Ad Hoc Commission has the authorization to reimburse Fonavistas who have been able to demonstrate their contributions in money, as well as those who to date have only been able to recognize contribution periods.
The amount of these reimbursements, which will be made through the Banco de la Nación, are obtained from a distribution formula made up of the all contributions actually collected for Fonavi from dependent and independent workersupdated with the effective legal interest rate.
How is the return of Fonavi contributions calculated?
- AC: contribution calculation
- Fund to be returned: contribution collected by workers’ contributions to Fonavi, updated with the effective legal interest rate.
- Contingency fund: estimated amount of money that allows reimbursement to the beneficiaries with accredited and updated monetary contributions that exceed the contribution calculation. This fund provides that the refund does not exceed the contributions actually collected from workers’ contributions to Fonavi, updated with the effective legal interest rate.
- Weighted % of the section: Percentage of contribution of the section, with respect to the average of periods contributed by Fonavista.
- Accredited contributed periods of the section: lapses provided and accredited for the evaluated section.
Consequently, the determination of the calculation of the contribution is the result of multiplying the difference between the fund to be returned and the contingency fund, by the weighted percentage of the tranche, divided by the contributed periods credited per tranche.
