For about a month now, credit and debit cards have been accepted at the Tuti location located in Bellavista, north of Guayaquil. When entering the premises, you can see a notice on the door about the introduction of this new payment method.
Since this new format of the Tuti store supermarket started in 2019, it has spread across the country to more than 400 stores currently, and the only form of payment is cash.
But now comes the implementation of the modality of canceling the card to give users more options and as a pilot plan that is also applied in two other locations in Guayaquil, those located in Portete and Lorenzo de Garaycoa and on Rodríguez Bonín Avenue (PJ).
They currently accept Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards for purchases over $20.
Tuti opened its first location in April 2019 in Guayaquil, and from there it reached more than 60 cities in the country such as Caluma, La Troncal, Cumandá, La Concordia, Alfredo Baquerizo Moreno (Juján), Balao, Balzar, Colimes, Daule, Durán, El Empalme, El Triunfo, Milagro, Naranjal, Naranjito and Palestina.
In addition, in Pedro Carbo, Samborondón, Santa Lucía, Salitre, San Jacinto de Yaguachi, Playas, Simón Bolívar, Lomas de Sargentillo, Nobol, General Antonio Elizalde, Isidro Ayora, Babahoyo, Baba, Puebloviejo, Quevedo, Ventanas, Vinces, Palenque , Buena Fe, Valencia, Mocache, Quinsaloma, Portoviejo, Bolívar, Chone, among others.
On the supermarket’s website, it is stated that they want to “continue to grow so that more and more people can try” their products, and therefore they are looking for land and business premises with the following characteristics: 350 square meters or more and only land floor.
