The dollar closed the day on Tuesday, December 5, higher and stood at S/3.7620, which meant an advance of 0.21% compared to Monday’s close when it was quoted at S/3.7540, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). So far this year the currency has accumulated a variation of -1.18%.

At 1.50 pm the US currency in the parallel market It was quoted at S/3,740 for the purchase and S/3,770 for the sale. While in the banking market The purchase amounted to S/3.7280 and the sale amounted to S/3.7920 at the counters of the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP).

Internationally, as reported by Reuters, the price of gold experienced a decline after reaching an all-time high in the previous session. Meanwhile, the greenback regained ground and investors were cautious, avoiding making big bets before the release of US employment figures. This data could provide greater clarity regarding the direction the FED will take with respect to interest rates.
