The Ministry of Energy and Mining reported this Friday, December 1, that next year there will be no increase in electricity prices for the residential and commercial sectors, despite the fact that the country is going through an energy crisis.
With this announcement, according to the State Department, the price list for 2024 is retained, which includes residential, industrial, public lighting, vehicle fees and incentive rates, as well as incentives.

According to the National Electricity Corporation (CNEL), determining the tariff category of consumers is the responsibility of the electricity distribution company; which evaluates the load and energy consumption characteristics declared by the regulated customer. With this basis, the distributor determines the type of tariff that corresponds to the requested supply, in accordance with what is stated in the price list.
In this sense, it indicates that there are two categories of rates: residential and general.
In the housing rate corresponds to the public electric power service (SPEE) intended exclusively for domestic use by consumers; that is, in the place of residence of the family unit, regardless of the size of the connected load.
This category includes low-consumption consumers with limited economic resources, who have a small trade or craft activity integrated into their residence.
