The export avocado Peruvian reached 36 countries and It reached US$953 million between January and September of this year. This represented a growth of 9% compared to the same period in 2022, when the amount amounted to US$874 million, reported the Exporters Association (ADEX). In terms of volume, 594,778 tons were exported, which represents an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The union’s Agroexports manager, Claudia Solanowarned about the weather conditions that affected the result of last August’s harvest (45,041 tons), 6.9% less compared to the same month of 2022 (48,401 tons).
“According to information from the Institute of Statistics and Informatics, the most affected regions that month were Freedom (-32.8%) and Lime (-18.5%), despite this they concentrated 49.2% of the total. Those that reduced their crops the most were Apurimac (-80.2%), Moquegua (-47.8%), Ayacucho (-41.2%) and Arequipa (-37.7%)”, he explained.
On the other hand, he highlighted the growth of production in Pasco (87.6%), Ica (84.4%), Huánuco (56.8%) and Lambayeque (40%).
“The avocado is an important product of our agro-exports, and like blueberries, asparagus, mangoes, bananas and others, it was exhibited at Expoalimentaria, the leading food and beverage fair in Latin America, which took place from the 27th to last September 29 in order to identify more buyers,” Solano recalled.

According to the ADEX Data Trade Commercial Intelligence System, this product reached 36 markets, whose ranking was led by Netherlands with US$293 million, experiencing a concentration of 30.7% and an increase of 12.2%.
The second place was taken Spain with US$185 million, presenting a participation of 19.4% and an increase of 42.1%. They completed the top five USA (US$135 million), Chili (US$97 million) and United Kingdom (US$97 million). They also stood out for their amount shipped China, Japan, Hong Kong, Russia and South Korea.
The leading companies were Avocado Packing Company SAC, Westfalia Fruit Perú SAC, Camposol SA, Virú SA, Sociedad Agrícola Drokasa SA, Agrícola Cerro Prieto SA and Agrícola Pampa Baja SAC
The markets that showed impressive increases were Uruguay (302.3%), Morocco (273.6%) and Italy (123.7%).
