The SNational Indicator of Workers Sunafil ha announced an indefinite national strike from November 22seeking institutional strengthening and improvement of working conditions.
Mainly, they require an update in the salary scale, which has not been modified for 10 years and does not adjust to current costs of living and inflation. In that sense, they highlight the need for this consideration because, by law, inspectors are prohibited from engaging in activities other than inspection, unlike other public servants, thus limiting their employment options.
In addition, they demand the transfer of personnel hired under the CAS regime to the labor regime of Legislative Decree 728, allowing indefinite contracts and full benefits.
“Peru has a high level of informality, close to 78%. We need a strengthened Sunafil, with more inspectors and workers, to face the challenge of labor formalization. Only in this way can we prevent fatal accidents, address dangerous incidents, investigate labor hostilities and guarantee the payment of social benefits,” the union highlighted in its document.
Thus, members of the National Union of Sunafil Workers and the Union of Inspectors and Workers of Sunafil will meet at 8:30 am in front of Congress to demand changes to the State from Wednesday, November 22.
